Coring dapat juga dilakukan untuk membuat opening berbentuk persegi pada beton dengan cara dirajah. Selain itu, metode ini juga digunakan dalam pengambilan sample beton pada suatu struktur bangunan untuk mengetahui kualitas beton. Mesin coring bekerja dengan supply air yang mengalir selama proses melubangi berlangsung. Konsumsi daya listrik mesin coring bervariasi menyesuaikan kapasitas mesin umumnya mulai dari 1700 hingga 4800 watt. Proses kerja mesin coring sangat aman untuk struktur bangunan karena tidak menimbulkan getaran yang dapat menimbulkan keretakan ataupun merusak struktur suatu bangunan.
